Petra Vlachová

At the Prague College of Psychosocial Studies, she studied Social Work with a focus on communication and applied psychotherapy, which also included a five-year psychotherapeutic training. It was conducted in the psychodynamic approach and is accredited for healthcare by the Czech Psychotherapeutic Society of the J. E. Purkyně Czech Medical Association. She has completed professional courses such as general training in telephone crisis intervention, working with trauma, psychosocial counselling, fear in social situations, and others. She works under supervision and continually expands her knowledge.
From 2010 she worked for 5 years on a children’s crisis hotline as a telephone and chat consultant, as well as an email counsellor. In 2014, together with her female golden retriever Zooey, she passed canistherapy exams for work with seniors. In 2015 she worked in a low-threshold club for children and youth. Since 2011 she has been working as a photographer. In 2020 she started a private practice in psychotherapeutic counselling.
She works with adult clients who struggle with difficulties in interpersonal relationships and experience life hardships that have accompanied them for many years and with which they no longer know how to cope. She is particularly close to topics such as parenting, motherhood, work and partner relationships, anxiety, and loneliness.
“The aim is to help find inner strength, resources, and motivation in both challenging and everyday life situations. It is okay to ask for help. It is important to have space to open up.”
